CLEFT CHESTNUT FENCING PRODUCTION

If you are looking to order cleft chestnut fencing for a landscaping or agricultural project, get in touch with William Kirkwood & Sons in Castlewellan.

CC Fencing

William Kirkwood & Sons are one of the few stockists of Cleft Chestnut Fencing in Ireland. We stock chestnut fencing made from European Sweet Chestnut (Castanea Sativa) using traditional methods. It is grown in sustainably managed chestnut coppices in ancient woodlands on the North Kent Downs.

The sweet chestnut timber is full of natural tannins that leaves it very durable and resistant to rot. It makes a rustic and natural-looking fence which is strong and difficult to climb. It can be easily taken down and reused, perfect for temporary fencing.
